Charge cable with integrated balancing connector
i want to make a Charge cable with integrated balancing connector for a lipo like this one.
i do have the - and + cables with corally connectors and the small balance corally connector to. do i need anything else?how do i make the connections? thanx http://www.integy.com/IPCC2S5000V1(30C).jpg |
It'll depend on the charger/balancer, but typically the positive, negative and link (miniature connector) are each connected to the relevant pins on the balance connector of the charger/balancer...and the the 2 main + & - connections are also connected to the output of the charger.
So wires connected as follows: Large gauge wire from Charger output + to battery + Small gauge wire from Battery + to balancer Small gauge wire from Battery balance port to balancer Small gauge wire from Battery - to balancer Large gauge wire from Charger output - to Battery - Large gauge could be 12/14AWG as you'd use for your ESC wiring, not sure on the smaller gauge, it's just to take a voltage reference off the individual cells, so doesn't need any large current carrying capacity. The large and small gauge wires on the + & - connectors of the cells are normally soldered together at the battery connector end. Hopefully that makes sense...a picture or diagram would help out a lot...but I have access to niether thing right now!!! |
