B44 "perfect" weight/Slipper q

Hi

I have just completed my B44 and was wondering what the "best" weight for the car was? Out of the box with lipos its coming in at 1590g.

I have seen posts relating to adding weight to the rear of the car via lead/coins/lipos trays etc but cant seem to see what a good end weight is and why?

On another point - the mysteries of the slipper clutch! If I accelerate slowly i can hear the slipper for a few feet but when i hit the throttle full on from a standing start there seems to be no slip at all? Is this ok or am i going to kill my car?

Cheers

Jnu

there is no perfect weight. some people like a heavy car and some prefer to strip off all the weight they can get away with. personally as long as the nose doesn't dive off jumps and my left to right balance isn't a mile away I don't care about the total weight.

you won't damage the car really without a slipper working. all that'll happen is outdrives/driveshafts will wear slightly faster. I tended to run a tiny bit of slipper. about 1.5-2 threads showing on the shaft just to take the initial torque off the power delivery.

Build the diffs as per instructions 1/8th of a turn on the back diff a bit less on the front (a bit tighter). The same with the slipper 10.2 mm from the screw to the end of the shaft, this may be a bit tight I back it off half a wheel turn. Should be good then check you diffs after the first run to make sure they are still the same.
