Imax b6 - error message when balancing
I have the imax b6 charger but when i try to balance charge i just get and error message and it wont let me charge but if i leave the balance lead disconnected it charges fine.
I am trying to charge trakpower lipo's and using wheelspin models charging harness - JST to 2mm pin Anyone got any suggestions |
whats the error? I had an error when using a CoreRC balance lead; after much deduction it appeared as though balance port on the cable was wired incorrectly. After correcting manually, everything worked fine.
Could be worth checking another lead? I used the picture on the Demon website to conclude my cable was wrong (check where the thin wires from each plug terminate and compare against yours). |
The wire with the small 2mm plug should go to the center of the white connector.
Hope this helps |
It starts to charge for ~ 4 seconds the comes up with cell voltage error , voltage to high.
It does this even then the lipo has been used and balanced on my mates charger. |
It sound to me like the two small red wires that go into the small white plug are the wrong way around. Maybe try swapping them around and try again. (I have heard that was the case with some other trakpower lipos)

Would you be able to put a picture of the lead up so we can see where the wires go?
|
wow thanks for the quick reply, looks like that has fixed the problem, jus swapped the two red wires around and bingo, all works!!!!
Cheers guys |
if it is telling you that voltage is to high, I suggest you get a volt meter and check the voltage of each cell in your pack, if one is over 4.2v then really, that pack should be binned.
|
The wires were the wrong way round so it was only reading as one whole cell so one cell was @ 7.7v and other was @ 0.0 volts, now changed wires round and both cells read 3.8v

I'm glad that worked for you mate. Have fun with your lipo the power of them is just great I really noticed the difference when I moved over to lipos.
