LRP motor Cogging

Hi All

I have a old brushless LRP motor. It was fine but now doesnt start up when I accelerate. Once its running Its fine (when I give the car a push it will start if I have the stick pushed forward).

Its not the sensor cable, I have tried several that do work with it and get the same result. Also when running unsensored it still coggs.

Is there anyway to fix this issue on the motor? Its not for a racer, I just use it in some of my bashers.

Cheers

Sounds to me like maybe the actual sensors in the motor are bad, or maybe the timing is off? Possibly a weak rotor... Has your motor ever reached 165*F?

at a guess, I would say that the sensor pack has failed, hence the same result whether in sendored or sensorless

if you are feeling confident, take the motor apart and clean the sensors with motor cleaner and a lint free cloth works on x12's;)

It sounds like the magnets are spinning on the rotor. When my T8 failed (twice) it just seemed like the batteries were going flat - I had no punch out of corners, but when spooled up, it was fine.

Is it getting really hot? Both times my rotor became loose it went seriously warm (the wires unsoldered themselves off the tabs). New rotor though, and it was back to normal again.

Cheers for this, I'll open it up and have a look. I dont remember it being ever that hot.

So if a new rotor doesnt work, and its the sensors, I assume its just fit for the bin?

What timing setting are you on?
Try Turning the timing up and i reckon it should fix it:thumbsup:
