Which diff oil to use in my s400 geared diff

Hi, guys

Does anybody know what is the best weight diff oil to use in my geared diff in my serpent s400 touring car,I will be running on carpet indoors and the outdoor tarmac track at halifax ,I run a fixed spool at the front.

I dont know which weight of oil is in the diff at the moment because i bought the car second hand but the problem is at the moment the back end is always trying to break away,Which means the diff oil is too heavy.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The lighter the rear diff oil is the more traction you get

well that is what i used to think, however with my recent experiments, thicker diff oils seem to make the car more drivable and calmer on the rear, and thinner seems to get more traction but unsettles the rear as its more likely to diff out. give it a try, whats the worse that can happen?

not true in 10th ic if we want more power on steering we thicken the oil, if you want it to go like snot fit a solid rear!! to calm is softer rear diff oil

when i ran the s400 most ran a light grease just to lube the gears, as you get no slip
