Motor question for Losi...
 

Just got a XXX-4 and I'm looking for suggestions on a motor for it....probably in the 9T-10T range...or others if someone has a favorite. Thanks! The tracks it will be raced on will generally be large and loose dirt (i.e. other classes include 1/8th scale nitro buggy etc).

Personally, I would suggest anything in the orion / peak V2 range motors, they just last a long time without too much attention and aren't quite as wild, wind for wind, as some motors. so probably better on your loose tracks, top speed would be good but less bottom end..
thats what I've found anyway.

The fastest motors I've used have been from trinity, but needed a lot more looking after, and to be honest, I hate skimming and rebrushing.. V2- its the lazy mans choice! ;)

Or checkpoint?? I find they are just abit improved over v2's, and can take much more hammering with brushes better but are alot more costly. Nick

Cool...I'll check them out. I was wondering about those new brushes and such. I'm happy to hear about less work maintaining them. Thanks guys!

The checkpoints i run have done three meetings without a skim, and even then i have not noticed a drop in performance.

Some of the Checkpoint guys are getting 20-30 runs on their motors, no cuts, same brushes. Amazing stuff.

I have a 12x2 in my 2wd car and a 10x2 in my 4wheeler. Won't put any other motors in my cars, especially ones that started their lives in a Trinity or EPIC hand. Good product (sometimes), weak customer service (always) and a blatant disregard for anything other than profit.

I'd have to agree there. I've never heard a kind word about Ernie at Trinity. The Checkpoints will be what I get for sure. Thanks guys!
