sending secure data via email
 

Just had an esc upgraded at KO Propo in the states as the UK don't do them.

I need to send credit card details via email if possible but it needs to be secure.

KO don't take paypal

What, if any programs are available or functions within outlook are there?

Probably worth the cost of a phone call. I wouldn't fancy sending CC details via email.

I don't know of any programmes for this but what i did when i sent mine over email is send one email with all your details APART from your account number and security number. And then another with your account number and security number. Nobody can do anything with your with these 2 pieces of information on there own, they have to have everything alltogether :thumbsup: you could even split it into 3 emails.

I bought from X-Factory before they became UK stock and they used a method of emailing numbers but can't remember what it was

no matter how much security that you you use it's meaningless if its not secure on their end. honestly i would never even think of doing it that way. if they can't send you an invoice online so you can pay through a secured site then i would do it by phone.

Can you put the numbers in an excel worksheet and password protect it to open it, then zip it up with a password then email the zip file! Then ring them with the password!

I know that you can crack excel and zip passwords but it would stop any amatures if they happen to stumble upon your email.....

PGP (pritty good privacy) would do it. But you would need them to be able to decrypt the fileat their end

I think you may be able to 'axcrypt' the info and send a password in another email or something to unpack it.............
