One way to reduce slop on the TD ball ends
Hi everyone,
like many of you already knows, the DEX410 ball ends have a bit too much of a play (slop), so I came up with this idea: I use plumber's tape, like the picture shows, I already replaced all the TD ball ends and ball studs with other brands, but I used the tape on the servo ball ends and also as an experiment I drove the car for a couple of days with the stock ball ends with tape underneath, they worked really well. They are quite smooth ( not 100 % ) but definitely no play at all, and at least they lasted until today (since 3 days ago). If you want to give it a try, hier is a picture. Let me know what you think about it. The tape is 0.10mm thick. http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...41_700_525.jpg |
I dont understand this ball end issue!
the standard ball ends have normal slop, comparable to to other cars. anyway, loose ball ends are better than tight ball ends. |
and the tape will last less than 5 mins!

hi Fastinfastout, about the slop I think that the TD ball end as a bit more slop than rpm or losi once, you can read the same thing in a few forum.
the tape doesn t make them too tight it is smoother than it looks and it last longer than Markchristopher think. I think first try before negative criticism. anyway i am happy for you that you like the stock ball ends. have a nice sunday:) |
