Tekin T8 bearings
 

Where can I get replacement T8 brushless motor bearings from just got a secondhand one and rear bearing is very rough?

Have you got a measurements of the bearing? Should be 5mm ID but not sure of the OD and thickness. Once you have this you should be able to get the bearing from the likes of JE Spares, rcbearings.co.uk or ABEC35.com. Perhaps it would be time for an upgrade to ceramic ones.

The ID is definately 5mm - just checked on one of my many rotors I have lying around.

I thought they were like Xray 808 clutch bearings in size - though I could be wrong.

I'll check my sources (woah that makes me sound important! :D).

Ok, not sure now.

Definately 5mm inner though - Tekin's website doesn't suggest anything, nor does the manual.

Otherwise, get at least ABEC3 quality bearings - 5 would be better.

I believe they are

front: 4x13x5mm
rear: .125x.375x.15"

my bad, that is the Redline bearing size, the correct T8 sizes are

Front bearing is 5x16x5
Rear bearing is 5x11x5

With those sizes I can only find them from VXB bearings. The 5x11x5 can be purchased as a ceramic but cannot find the 5x16x5 in ceramic.

Its the rear smaller bearing thats the worst, not sure why they didnt choose to fit large ones front and rear on this standard of motor?

I'll have a look around for some bearings now sure rcbearings.co.uk might be able yo help

the smaller rear bearing allows you to have a removable timing sensor, as this can fail on brushless motors.

Fair enough although a different dimension timing sensor is the answer I'd of thought. Guessing but maybe they wanted to use their existing sensor from 1/10th to keep cost down? Not too bad as the bearings seem readily available..

cheers have ordered from rcbearings, same code as is on the current bearings so cant be too bad.

Edit on the ceramic front just went for replacement steel as ceramics not readily available and I find ceramic less able to cope with dirt that inevitably gets in them and need more maintenance.

Ceramic are good, as long as they are clean and not subject to axial loadings.

Not bad £1.65 total for a front and rear bearing for a T8 from rcbearings.co.uk
