Diff gears

As my S4 uses the same transmission as the BJ4 Worlds I have the following most likely daft question:

Whats the difference between using the normal TC3 and TC4 diff gears compared to the NTC3 diff gear?

I know the nitro one has a plastic (sort of) bushing to fill out the space in the centre where the bearing goes, but beyond that they have the same number of teeth so why use the TC3/4 gear instead of the NTC3 one, and does it affect the handling?

Hope that all makes sense.

I dont think that the material the differential gear is made out of could possible affect handling. Someone correct me if Im wrong (I dont remember) but, I believe that the material is stronger due to the "rigors" of nitro sedan racing.

All the gears are the same, TC3/4, electric/nitro with a couple of exceptions.
The NTC3 one way gear is different as it has a larger hole in the middle, and the ATD gear (the one with the insert) which is for the nitro TC boys to set the diff really tight without damaging the inners as the insert is wider than the diff gear.

;)

Normal TC3/4 gears in the back with the larger hole'd gear on the one way. The ATD gear without the insert in looks like it would fit over the one way diff but it doesn't as the hole is a bit small.

It would be possible to use the ATD gear with insert in the rear no problem, the insert only changes things when the diff is really tight, it stops the balls getting crushed - ouch :o :D
