Printing your own vinyl stickers

Is this possible on an inkjet printer with decent results? I'm sure a couple of people must do it, I've seen custom name stickers and the like around, and I think jimmy does some oOple ones too, but I wondered how it's achieved, and also if anyone who knows could point me to somewhere to get what I assume is some sort of special printable vinyl?

Cheers :)

I had some sheets of Avery graphics inkjet stuff, it was quite good.

I can't find it anywhere now, you could try eBay

I could be wrong, but I think jimmys stickers are screen printed or printed on a propper printer. His oOple ones deffo are.

the thing is with your standard inkjet (home) printers is that they are water based, so it will wash off if water hits it. you could cover it with clear tape once its printed to water proof it.

You can get kits that change your standard inkjet into a slvent printer but they are quite expensive.

I think (like ben says) you can still get the special vinyls for injets but how durable they are, i don't know, I've never used them.

I used to do my own stickers at work on a solvent printer....but I don't work there anymore.:p

Maybe I should start up my own business doing this sort of thing?

Yeah Jimmys are all printed on a proper printer/plotter cut, I found http://www.overlander.co.uk/products...&scid=&pid=754 but at 9 quid a go for what I want it'd be cheaper and probably higher quality to get jimmy to print some up for me, if he doesn't mind that is. Doubt I'd be using 9 sheets for a while, and it might not even work that well :eh?:

It might help me make my own, just realised my name decals i just did on photoshop could use re arranging :p

I think there is also a problem with ordinary ink jet inks degrading in sun light (UV) and fading badly, so will have to change them regularly. Jimmy's decals are just great

Another problem I realised is inkjets don't print white, so anything with any kind of white needed in it is gonna look very odd
