North East outdoor Regionals??

Its been very quite in the North East as of late.

With Batley indoors no longer running and no indoor Regional series this winter im wondering whats gonna happen to the future of the North east?

Will there be any outdoor Regionals this year?

Really hope so as the North east has always been a very competative Region.

There's plenty hard work currently going on behind the scenes by the NE organisers to put the series together.. . .

As Chris says outdoor stuff will be getting organised shortly.

Didnt the same conversation for the indoor regional series have the same initial response, then that was canned....

As said earlier on dates will be sorted shortly, there not normally released till march time.

The winter regionals never happened due to lack of suitable dates and clubs not interested in losing money on an event.

Hi Peter,
I am looking to book holidays so the sooner the regional dates are posted the better. With the way my luck has been going this year so far I will book holidays and miss many meets.

How unpatient are some people :p

I know there was a consortium meeting last night, however nothing has been agreed yet, but I can not see why not the North East wont be holding a Regional series. For the past god knows how many years the North East has hosted Regionals.

There is alot of work to be done behind the scenes, and all clubs that are involved need to make sure they can host the event, and also so dates dont class with major rc competitions.

As soon as the consortium have discussed this, and finalised the dates they will be published.

@dmsykes

If you're not doing nationals, why not book your holidays for a national weekend?

dmsykes 18-02-2010 11:20 AM

Hi Chris,
Your suggestion is good but Hols usually cover two weekends and as I said with my luck so far this year i'll pick the wrong one to marry up with the national weekend.

Hi Gemma nice to get you stirred up, but I think you'll find it's impatient.

Sorry the older you get the more you need to plan in advance.

Gemma 19-02-2010 09:44 AM

Stirred up, clearly you know me too well!! :p

I just know how much organising behind the scenes it takes to arrange them, and Im sure once theyve been decided they will be published, then you will be able to put your holidays in!

Personally I dont find it impatient, but hey ho, being female we control ourselves better :woot:

Should be a good year for NE Regionals, and Im sure we will get a good attendance as normal, carnt wait to get my racing thumbs out again, and do my thing

Is York included in the regionals this year?

chris68nufc 05-03-2010 09:01 PM

wacattack 05-03-2010 10:55 PM

the dates werent announced until 30th March last year so i wouldnt hold your breath just yet

Northy 06-03-2010 03:38 PM

I believe Pete is waiting for the clubs to confirm. Shouldn't be long.

As graham says, we are just waiting for confirmation on a couple of changed dates, then all details will be posted.

Hopefully if everything goes to plan within the next week.
