Well, I wouldn't of thought any work would of been done on it over the Christmas period, owners were on holiday, and now it is under snow.

Be good if the track is open asap so that local or reasonably local racers can pay to come and practice. Cash for Taly and practice, sounds perfect. Also gives local racers a slight advantage (exclude me from that as I need miracles not practice) but it's what happens in all other regions. Look at Ben J at RHR last year, did the 3rd round of qualifiers blind folded :woot:

What Scott said!!!

GRIFF55 08-01-2010 11:15 AM

ooooh now that would be nice!! my local track too (4hr round trip!! ha ha). i'd still be up for a bit of a play!!
Will there be many track changes? i heard a rumour it was being ripped up and new built, is this right mate?

From what I understand, with so many seemingly unable to navigate a few little bumps, I understand the straight will get some attention, but I may of course, be wrong!!

Let's not get into a debate about the Talywain track please..........

Simple question as to when then track will be open, if it'll be open and is there the possibilty of practice days. The track will be the track and that's that !!

DCM 08-01-2010 12:46 PM

Well, right at the mo, Matt had to get the digger out, to clear the track up to his place, so can only assume, the track is under a major amount of snow. The comment above, was in jest, as it was argued about in length last year.

Ok is it likely that Talywain is going to be open in the reasonably near future for practice? Understand the weather, snow situation completely but as the first national is going to be there would be good to have so time up there.

If helping hands are need then that's not a problem either, just need to be informed as to what's going on up there. If ANYONE can shed some light on the matter I'd be really greatfull thanks

Ditto! Its a shame having such a good track so close and not using it, if it needs helping hands to get it race-able again then so be it, count me it.

As has been stated the track is under about 8in of snow so no work is possible at present .Once the weather changes and the ground is capable of taking the machines then we will start on any changes etc . Itwillbe ready for the National and we will keep people posted on our progress until then have patience ...H:p:p

I dont think it needs that much to flatten the tally straight. Lift the astro turn over the top layer of soil and compacting it. Persoanlly I loved tally last year.
The straight did cause some trouble for some cars. Fortunatly the xx4 is excellent over the bumps :) Round 4 of tally national i think was the best 5 minutes driving ive ever had. Sad im not going this year :(
