Bet you were chuffed to bits opening that Andy! Look forward to another SC10 at the next meet even though the 4.5T sounds scary...

Cheers Ryan you kept that under your hat

I think i`ll have to invest in a 10.5t losi motor soon

Until then i`ve knocked everything down on my laptop (Xceleron) but it still acts like a right weapon

Did you use diff oil? I`ve put some 8000 in?

Andy

ryanlownie 29-12-2009 04:32 PM

Yeah I was dreading you coming into the shop and mentioning anything SC10 haha!

I built my diff dry, it stated nothing in the manual so left it dry and it drives OK so I cant see the need to change it.... If someone can recommend a silicone oil I'll probably run it but otherwise I'm happy with a dry diff.

Yeah but that black stuff looked grim so i thought what the hell as its a sealed diff

And i`m sure as eggs are eggs i`ll be in mithering you for some spares been looking at this servo

http://www.jespares.com/electric-mod...ategory_id=503

As the one i have cheapo futaba s3003 and doesn`t seem much cop tbh

Andy

ryanlownie 29-12-2009 04:43 PM

Yeah anything around that price range will be suitable but I would get metal gears preferably. Nothing worse than stripping the plastic gear on the servo, get metal gears and let the servo saver worry about nasty impacts.

T4miy4 Guy 29-12-2009 04:48 PM

Cheers Ryan

Didn`t realise that didn`t have metal gears but ant road i`ll pop in soon

Andy

Looks like the truck class is going to be alot more interesting next time out :)

looks like am the only dude here thats got just one car....well that would be blagging i have two but thats on loan...

Si Coe 30-12-2009 11:16 AM

I might need you to buy it. Looks like I need the money so I can get this, convert my ST1 to electric and then stand a chance in Trucks again. I'm suspecting my SODA might be too fragile to compete against Andy with an SC10 and Dave with an 1/8th

johnnygibbon 30-12-2009 01:59 PM

eight hate

god i hate 8th scale. to scarey to marshal. might build my own from iron and wood and spikes . can it have its own class. robot wars class :woot:

Oh dear - Soda truck is hitting problems now. Shell has arrived (Proline Hardcore) but it looks like the wheelbase for the XX4 is a full 5cm shorter than the Slash and without butchery that shell is never going to fit. And at £25 its a bit mad to slice it up.
So that means exchanging for a conventional truck shell and risking exposed wishbones. Those being the only set of Soda truck front wishbones in existence makes me nervous........

Its all solved - sort of. And its bad news for Andy too!

Turns out the shell thats currently on the RC10T fits the SODA nicely, and the side bulges cover the nerf bars. Wheels are exposed but wishbones aren't and there is a lot of shell for strength.

But that leaves me with an RC10T without a shell and a Slash shell thats too long. Then it hit me - make a new, longer chassis for the RC10T. So the plan is the RC10T is going to get a 5cm longer chassis ali chassis, and a Slash shell, to become a proper short course tank, I mean truck......
