Hello, new in the x6 squared, new in the family

Hello to all from Portugal ...

I just assembled today my x-6 squared and I love the car. Everything was perfect in the assembly, the instructions were very well explained and everything hit right at first attempt. The only thing that was not too good were the window mask to the body to cover the windows of the same, but these are details.

As It said in the instructions, I am now part of the family:) heheheh

I mounted the car with the standard setup, and only when i go to the track I will decide where to begin to change to reach the ideal setup for me ...

Before going to the track I'm thinking about buying some spares and hop ups such as:

rear tower, rear braces, aluminum bar toe in Vampire Rancing degree 3 and 4, Long Rear MIP CVD axles and Battery Quick Change kit. I need something else for now? what you guys advise?

I apologize for the bad English and the quality of photos ... were taken after the assembly of the 6 x-squared (during the day)

Cheers

I don't know what kind of track you are running on but most of the UK guys use the Ellis Stafford Camber link extenders. Other than that you seem to have all the right spares. Your english was just fine. Welcome to the family.

Looks like your servo is mounted in the rear mounting holes?? I think all the setups I've seen use the front holes.

You need to search the setup posts, there is a ratio of 35/65 weight between front and rear that was liked on the X6 and much the same on the X6sq.

I am sure someone will be able to give total weight for the car and a point along the chassis to balance on. hope thats helpful.

What tires and track surface are you expecting.

There is a search function on this forum, use it crazy fool!

JCJC 31-12-2009 11:19 AM

I did a search yesterday, did not find what I wanted, threads run on a bit, but I am sure when I was setting up our X6 I found posts with a distance front/rear to balance the car on, we moved the weight to get this and the car seems good.

Will pop a battery (what battery makes a difference) in and balance ours later and see where it falls, of course if any one has this info, pop it on here for Alex :)

I found the post I was looking for

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20867

post 25, "Approximately 174mm back from the centreline of the front wheels."

We found this really helped when we were setting up, (thanks bodypaint), we balanced the car at this point, using a steel rule, and added sheet lead to make the weight up.

Alex_X6 31-12-2009 06:51 PM

tanks people, for the help and the links thread...

e put 60g in the servo, 70 in ESC and 40 under Lipo, and he is point is on 174mm..

YoungChazz 31-12-2009 11:08 PM

Outdoors on dirt we run a light set-up. If we're using LiPos, add just enough weight to bring the car up to minimum.

Indoors on carpet, more like the U.K. set-up which is much heavier.

In the lower left corner of the set-up sheet is a drawing with boxes for the amount of weight. Each box has an arrow pointing to where the weight goes. If a box is blank, that means no weight in that spot.

Just thinking, we are using an old Novak 6.5 with sintered rotor, may make up for the added weight abit, car has no lack of grunt, top speed etc.

We run on holeshots at PDA track, this is damp clay/dirt american style indoors and mini pins when on carpet, car is great, jumps well - sure you will enjoy driving it.

tanks JCJC... i had a new review for my wheight distribution, and by the 174mm mesuare, i finish whit 70g on servo, 60g on esc and 40g under the lipo...

i put 20g in the left rear side, by the motor to equilibrate to...

iīm run this year whith a SP 7,5T V.3.0,,, i hope this motor has power to this wheight :lol:

the first track is an indoor track of carpet.. i hope this setup work good
