Inserts for Holeshots ?

As per title, just looking at mounting up a set of 2wd Rear Holeshots and the standard inserts look and feel a bit knackered after being folded up in the packets for so long.
What's the best alternative ???

Cheers.

well i have never ran anything other than the proline ones but i have a set of ansmann ones sat here at home i can give you on the 3rd if you would like?

Kifogrande 28-12-2009 07:52 PM

Im sure the standard ones will be fine, dont cut them down or anything, squeeze them in and your away. They are all folded in the packet so im sure they wont be any worse than others.

Battle_axe 28-12-2009 07:55 PM

i have seen rob using these if you can get them in time http://www.rymartracing.co.uk/page_1231331980261.html

russmini 28-12-2009 08:45 PM

Cheers for that.

I'm really not happy with the feel of the inserts. There is one part where they've been bent back on themselves and now there is Nothing there, it's just squished. When mounted, it's a dimple all the way across the tyre and it's just flat around that as well.

Did think of the KWF inserts... I'll see whats what. Not running these though, just can't bring myself to glue them up with these in.

well still come racing on the third somone will sort you out what car are you running?

Try blasting them with a hairdryer for a while and then let them cool off. Sometimes they come back into shape after that.

Sebastian 29-12-2009 09:39 AM

Sometimes it helps to soak them with water and to put them in the oven for a couple of minutes until the water evaporated. Pretty much what sparrow.2 suggested ...

russmini 29-12-2009 12:44 PM

And thats why i Love Forums... I would never have dreamed of sticking em in an Oven !!!!

Cheers, i'll try that, although i have now ordered some New Inserts :D

Wonder if i put them in a Microwave, whether they'd Melt to a Squishy Mess... Mmmmmm Experiment

Oh and it's for a B4, haven't raced it for about 5 Months (and then only did a couple of Mid West Regionals) and Never on Hard Packed Dirt... This could be 'Fun'

Cheers for the help all.

sparrow.2 29-12-2009 06:23 PM

If you're running on hard-pack try the bog standard kit setup with holeshots and ribs, it is surprisingly good!

Battle_axe 29-12-2009 09:46 PM

yep green or silver rears with brown fronts bowties or holeshots on the rear and ribs up front :)

russmini 29-12-2009 10:21 PM

Cool,

At the mo i've got Silvers on rear, Blue's up front.
Will be Holeshots Rear and Ribs on Front.

I'll see what it does and tune from there.

Thanks for the help.
