Starting point for D4?
Following some pretty rubbish performance from my D4, a new speed was required and I fitted this afternoon, last run the brakes and steering were pretty rubbish.
Anyone any idea where I can find a basic setup to start her off on? The speedo should take care of the brakes, but I need the steering sorted out, it pretty bad for understeer? Like to find out how much toe/camber/caster etc and if possible someway to measure it, hopefully without the use of specialist tools and setup board. I'll get round to all that, but I would like to set it up as square as possible and with proper geometry ie: toe/camber/caster ? I took of the linkages this evening and used a digital micrometer to check all were at the same length and with matching distances on the turnbuckles. The rear is toed in as standard and I cant see any way to adjust for less/more toe-in, but the front can all be adjusted as normal. Anyone help? |
You mean D4 or D8? As the D4 is 1/10th this is 1/8TH electric.. ?:)

Erh!....If you can show me the 1:10 off-road electric, I'll go there?:(
There aint one...is there? So its off-road and its electric and two out of three aint too bad! :p |
This is the Hot Bodies Specific thread mainly for the D4
http://www.oople.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29  Will get better help there, from people that run the D4 aswell |
You'le get there, you need
http://www.oople.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29 dedicated HotBodies forum which mostly means the D4 and cyber10 (which is like a rejigged D4) Good car if thats what you have, less supported than it was. oOple is 99% off road electric and 99% of that is 10th. (Rear toe may be changing the blocks the pins sit in, on ours the screws, block to chassis were threadlocked and difficult/impossible to remove, look in the manual - advantage of secondhand) |
