S400 front drive/knuckle update.

This is a quick and very useful update for the current Serpent S400 and gives the car a big increase in turn in and stability. All parts are easy to purchase and will benefit this great car until the next update!

These are JET Hobby alloy replacements for the S400 mated with the SPECR 416 CVDs.
All the alloy chassis parts in stock at "rabhobbies.com.au". The SPECR CVDs from Precision RC or ERG Racing.

Cheers and a happy new year from Australia.

speedtechrc.com has the spec r universals in stock. what other parts are needed to use these? how nice are the C hubs you are using. i am currently in korea as a u.s. soldier and I am thinking about ordering a set and shipping is adventurous.

todb 09-01-2010 08:57 AM

what type ball ends are you using on the top of the C Hub?

MILKMAN 10-01-2010 03:05 AM

C Hubs are very well made and as shown in the pics have been a very clean fit on my S400. All that was required with the installation with the alloy knuckles were some .01 and .02 metric shims. The C Hubs were a direct fit to the car with no mods.....
The ball ends in the top of the C Hub is the genuine Serpent S400 kit item.

thanks for that info.. i look forward to running the conversion. also are you having any durability issues with the pins on the universals?

MILKMAN 10-01-2010 09:49 PM

With the Spec R CVD's so far so good but as stated by Spec R themselves these are not recommended for any motor under 11 turns.

S400 SPOOL

Hi

The spool is from Titanium Racing in the UK and the SpecR driveshafts fitted with only a small trim on the length of the pins and worked so well together.
Soooooo Smooth.

I'm in Australia and from order to delivery of the Spool approx 10 days. Fit was spot on for the car. No complaints from my side!

how about the outdrives. durable?

MILKMAN 13-04-2010 02:29 AM

OUTDRIVES

Wear on the out-drives has been as good as accepted depending on the motor used and driving ability.
