Nosram dominator evo esc help
 

I have the above speedo, but it doesnt like high power servoes. Is there any way to stop it twitching whit the servo? There is a blue wire coming from the esc, what is this for? I was thinking a wire from the battery straught to the power wire on the servo but will this work and need a resistor in to limit the voltage?

Have you tried running a capacitor in your receiver before trying anything else? It might solve the problem without you having to run "interesting" wiring :)

no you need a fet servo choke it goes in line on the blue wire and the positive from either the battery or the blue wire on the esc the reciver capsiter will not help this as the servo takes it positive from the battery and there for does not run through the capasiter.

I know how to wire a FET servo. It doesn't sound like he's running a FET servo though and wanting to separate the red wire off of the servo wiring to hook up to the blue fet wire coming out of the speedo. This would be bad as he would be running a 6V servo off of full battery voltage ie. 8.4V with lipo or higher with NiMH.

Try the capacitor first as it will smooth out the power delivery to the servo and help the crappy BEC circuitry.

(separating the positive wire off a servo and running it off another source is "interesting" :p)

like i said still not intresting wiring it was nicknamed here in the uk as hotwiring standard servos you pay 8 10 pounds for a servo and take the red lead direct to the fet lead it makes them quicker yes it gives more voltage and yes it will burn the servo out however i had a futaba standard servo back in the early 90s last nearly a year doing this that was a pretty good for £10 as a ko fet back then was £75.

i wouldn't recomend it but it is nothing new

and a cap will still not do any think.

There are plenty of things we used to do in the 90's that are just not necessary now.

Dave, you haven't mentioned what servo you're using, but if it cost anything more than 10 quid I wouldn't set up the "interesting" wiring, as it will not last.
