Dudley Winter Series 29th November- CANCELLED!

just received a notice from club chairman Roy Kirton that tomorrow's event at Dudley has been CANCELLED!!!

Hi All,
just to let you know after loads of requests and lots of problem with double booking etc etc
Dudley have now managed to get a mini winter series organised, Racing All electric classes
Where possible depending on entries.
It will not be in the sports hall as in previous years ,
we have rearranged things in the Drama/dining rooms to accommodate a much bigger track,
but as there is so much else going on there will only be 3 meetings £6-00 entry fee £10 for 2 classes
The first being Sunday 29th November the 2nd January 24th and round 3 on 28th February
To be held at Coseley Leisure Centre, Henne Drive, Coseley, Bilston, West Midlands WV14 9JW
Doors will open at 8am 3 rounds of heats and 2 rounds of Finals trophies for the top 3 in each Final.

Regards

Roy Kirton

Will Micro's be allowed...probably worth it, as the micro nat is coming up the week after I think?

Cheers

It says open to ALL electric classes, and in past years there has been some micro heats there. Providing there are enough this time, I would expect there to be a heat.

Cheers Tom, we will try and round up a few, to get a heat on then :)

Canyone confirm what entries are looking like at the moment, I know it says all electric classes, but do we know how many have already booked in in 2,4, micro and sc etc...trying to decide which classes to run in if i come up and dont want to be the only sc for instance, although i might have a chance of a win then....hmmmm

Anyone have any pics from previous Dudley indoor offroad meets?

The only ones ive seen so far look to be off of the 70's? lol

Ben Turner 25-11-2009 02:25 PM

Im coming, gonna do 10th 4wd and micro if theres enough numbers

c0sie 25-11-2009 02:27 PM

What 4WD you got then Turner??

RogerM 25-11-2009 03:41 PM

Don't tend to have the stupid super-huge jumps that some places like to put in as they also run tourers at the same meeting and need something which is easily removed / bypassed.

Nice consistent racing surfaces though and well run meetings usually

c0sie 25-11-2009 03:55 PM

Think ill pass then :)

Does anybody know if tables and chairs are available at Dudley?

And is 240V power available?

Booo! Was quietly looking forward to this one. Any reason behind the cancellation?

its not cus dudley cancel every meeting:thumbsup:

Lack of entries i would assume.. was talk of canceling due to not enough entries to cover the cost of the room

Last Sundays meeting was indeed cancelled due to lack of entries I believe.

With regard to the above, there are chairs at Dudley and a number of tables, but it may be worth bringing your own table if you have one to ensure that you don't have to pit on the floor. Mains power is available in all pit areas.

The fourth video down here (click on the thumbnail) is from the last Winter Series meeting we ran in the big hall - the track isn't set up for the micros obviously but it should give anyone going tomorrow an idea of size and space. Also, a couple of pictures here.

There will be a problem tomorrow with regard to packing the track away as some Dudley members will be racing Carpet Masters at Staffs, so it really would be appreciated please if as many people could help pack up as possible.

Thanks, and enjoy the micro meeting tomorrow.

last week

The track for tomorrow's micro looks good, and should be a fast and fun track. There are normally enough tables, chairs and extension leads to go round, but it's always a good idea to bring your own if you have them.

From what I can gather, not enough people let Roy know they we're intending to race, so he had to pull the plug. The next one I think is due sometime in Jan, and then another in March I think, but check Dudley's website to make sure.

I would post this elsewhere, but, well, lol.
