Shock Pistons

Ok, dumbass question time, am after a bit of info:

When Reading setups on cars you see various stuff on shock pistons around number of holes/thickness of holes, I'm wondering if there's a different impact of each, eg do 4 0.5mm holes give the same effect as 2 1mm holes?

I'm guessing not, but not sure why!?

Reason I'm asking is Tamiya are releasing blank pistons for the TRF dampers, currently all their pistons are 2 hole with 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 mm thickness. These new ones let you choose the number of holes, so wondered what setups this could help with compared to just the original pistons?

will the losi or ae pistons fit in the shock Dave so you can test? Perhaps the FAMILY can make you some shocks out of some material that is in one of the many fields nearby!!!!:p

Just seen this:woot:

Have tried wooden shocks, the problem is the oil seeps into the wood leaving you with wet, and crap, shocks.

Made the cousin who suggested trying wood "milk the bull" as punishment (Kingpin anyone?)
