I agree there was very little about scalextric it seemed to be all about the race. Weakest of the series so far.

how good was that!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yoldume 19-11-2009 10:34 AM

problem i have with it is he just tells other people to build it and just sits on his arse while they do it

the plasticine garden was good because he actually got envolved and so was the airfix ut the meccano and scalextric are the two weakest they show no challenge

ashleyb4 19-11-2009 10:47 AM

The meccano showed no challenge!!!!!!! they built a bloody big bridge. That is the whole point of the show to see if the younger generation can do it. Ive love to go give it a go.

it's called delegation

I use it at work so you'd be no use were I work :lol: :p

Yoldume 19-11-2009 11:14 AM

well yes, but its meant to be HIS idea and dream to do these things so sitting on his arse isnt really fullfiling that

i have no problems with delegation if they pay me :thumbsup:

It was a great episode and showed some good community spirit too. It's nice, because you don't see communities getting involved with each other too much these days.

What littlened said. Just watched it on iplayer, was cool to see whole communities getting together. Brilliant programme. :thumbsup:

I need to have a watch of this, I think James May is pretty inspiring, when I first saw him on top gear he didn't really look like the right person to be presenting it, but he is ace on it now, and he is brilliant in his own right.

erm, no, it isn't, it is there to spotlight all them things you don't really see, in toy shops these days. The bridge thing was to show that Meccano is based on proper engineering principles...... I used to love my Meccano. The Scalextric track was awesome, how good is it to bring alive a dead historical racing circuit!!!

I will hold my hands up and say i played with my meccanno about a month ago :p I was nenevr someone to make pretty things i was always a technical person. Also played with my lego not so long ago to but that was only because my cousin came who is 5. I havent done a huge ammount of airfix Ive got the odd impreza and did a spitfire hurican and lancaster bomber a few years back. Never really liked scaletrics nor plasterseen. I was a model railway man myself loved my train set. Had loads of stuff. Had a perminate layout in my garage in my old house. Had the works in there. Most of which was my dads from when he was young. Kids these days dont know what there missing. Playstation WTF ive never had one of them.
