Narrow chassis and shells

What benefit do they provide over the normal width chassis.

I only ask because the durango's seem to have a really narrow chassis, and some people has been making their own narrow chassis.

Don't know exactly what it's like in 4wd but durango converted 2wd's went better with a wider shell on them than with the ultra-narrow shells.

With the wider shell they jumped better and were better in faster passages due to the aerodynamics on the rear of the car.

Less drag and for what it`s worth, less weight.

less to ground out on bumps!

Yeah, I was under the impression that narrower = more roll before it triangulates and makes contact with the ground, so you can run softer to cope with bumps.

But I'm no buggy driver.
