Need help gearing for TA05 Version 2

I have a TA05 Version 2. I was wondering if anyone can give me a good starting point for gearing this car, it's going to be ran on asphault.

The powerplant I'm putting in is a Mamba Max with 4600Kv motor.

Currently, the motor's timing is set to lowest in the ESC setting...

Anyhelp would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi mate

If you are running on a large open flowing circuit, Start with a 39t pinion, medium then 34 pinion small and tight 29 and work from there.

cheers

Thanks for the response qatmix, out of the two forums I placed this question, this was the first one to give me an answer!

But I'm a bit weary of the things I've been hearing, a 39T pinion???

The ratio of the front and rear are 2.05, the Spur that came with the kit is 70T, with a 39T pinion, that would put the FDR at less than 4!

Can on-road 4wd touring be geared with a very low FDR even for motors like the 4600Kv? It's supposedly equivalent to a 10 to 12T modified brushed, if I remember correctly from what Castle claimed...

Whoops, I was thinking of the gearing with the 105t 0.4 pitch spur it gives you a better tuning range. (Its the one we all run in our various Ta05's).

Otherwise I would look at 26t, 23t or 20t
