do you all use x6 wings or what?

Depending on the track and how I want the car to drive I've used the original wing, JConcepts wings or even the small B4 wing.

Use different wings to sort out how it jumps too. You can do quite a lot with different amounts of gurney on the original wing but even with minimum amount it still has a lot of downforce compared to other wings.

Yes and trim guerney accordingly. Always mount forwards (rear dimples on wing) and cut round tower.

I brought a 4 gear X6 the other week and the rear wing had been mounted forward with a big slit in it so it sits over the rear tower, is that the best place for it super_dan?

Are you going to The Players next weekend? would i be able to come over an pick your brains about the X6 to make sure ive done everything right?

Some people slot the wing for the corners of the tower, others cut the section out, I doubt it makes much of a performance difference either way as it's the leading edge which is nearly horizontal. I cut it out as it's easier, takes about 10secs with lexan scissors.

We do this as it makes it much better balanced in the air. Further back it has a greater effect which causes the car to jump nose high.

I am doing the players next weekend, very much looking forward to it. I'll be there from 5pm on the friday.

Mine was jumping nose high so i brought a front wing which helped it abit, maybe the weight balance isn't quite right. Either way im really happy with the car.

I should be there from about 12 ish, im gonna go and help set the track up.

Adding weeight at the front end of an X6sq when running Lipo is critical to be honest. As a very rough generalisation you want at least 100g spread between the speedo tray and the front of the car. This is assuming you're running on dry conditions, the exception is wet astro when taking the weight out of the front (and potentially adding some to the back) really helps make the car very safe allowing you to push. Some see this as a disadvantage that you 'have' to move the weight but as soon as you've tried it you realise it's an advantage as you have the best of both worlds!!! :)

I pretty much use the front wing everywhere as I find it helps on the jumps and on high speed corners.

As to the rear wing I have always found the stock wing to be fine. The only time I have ever changed anything was for the players last year when we were flying for soo long, and even then I just trimmed 5mm off the back of the stock wing.
