Lap counters, can you export data?

Just wondering if it's possible to export all the results for a days racing using the lap counting software clubs use?

The reason I ask is that it would be very easy for a club to export the days data and upload it to a website where it would be available for everyone to see/comment on.

What software are they using?

I'm not sure, I'm just talking in general. I know tracks use different software, but I'm just wondering if any of the software has an export function.

I imagine lapfree software doesn't have the option to export. but what about the software used with AMB?

At Southport, we use RC-Timing and you can save the meeting as a HTML file and load directly to the website, as we have done here.

I know you can with BBK software, and I would imagine most of the other systems offer this function unless you are running them in demo mode.

I was more thinking that the export would export to a CSV file, so that the data can be imported into a database, and then pulled from the database and displayed as HTML. When the data is in a database it gives you much more control over what you can do with it.

well if you can create a HTML file, you can create a CSV file from that....seems to me like you are creating a lot of work for yourself though.

Creating a CSV file from HTML file automatically is a lot of work.

I just thought that maybe having searchable, comparable data in a database would be a good idea.

I think BBK Software have been trying to have a central repository for all BBK timing systems so that they can publish on the web and include extra information so that drivers can see if they are improving. Trouble is I think the take up has been rather slow. Check out www.rcracecontrol.com and www.bbkrclive.com. Trouble is there is a long way to go to catch up the likes of liverc.com.

The RC-timing package we have at southpot allows export of specific races or entire meeting as HTML or CSV. We use HTML as we just copy and paste straight on to the website.

Driver database can be exported to CSV not HTML.
Drivers lists can be imported from CSV or BRCA.

You can also handle championships in the software, again with results export function to HTML or CSV. The new version allows you to record tracks, so if you run the same layout several times you can save that track and record driver PB's for that particular track.
