Battery box

After 15 years on the old one (wasp), it’s about time for a new battery case any advice.

Needs to hold 8 packs of cells, potentially some motors (brushless), be decent quality and not too expensive.

Anything out there people know of that fits the bill?

I have the spec racing case, which holes 9 packs of cells and about 8-10 motors.. I've had it a while and its been ok, but the foam has come unstuck a lil, leading to the cells moving around slightly.. Its not bad though.

how much did that cost, and where can you get them from?

It was a gift, but you have to ring them I believe (spec racing) - their lil advert is always somewhere near the back in the magazines.

spec racing number is 02086569200

I have a spec racing one also, its very sturdy (I know this, due to me been clumsy as hell, and dropping it numerous times) Also, the padding inside is well suited to adapting to different sized cell and motors, and provides a nice tight seal around items, to keep them secure.

If you have wires on your cells (and not corally connectors) then they fit in too

I think mine was £40, but don't quote me, I have now had it about 2 years, maybe more ;)

The aluminium corraly cones are ace i have one i have the one that holds 6 cells 4 motors 4 armatures and a small screw tray. But there is also one that holds either 10 or 12 packs. The foam is really tought and the cells dont moved. And the hard aluminium case can be run over and it wouldnt break.

Does anyone that has the Corally mixed case think that the armature section could be cut out to allow 2 extra packs to be put there instead as with brushless there is no need.
