Ace Servos with Li fe Receiver batterys
Hi
does anyone use the new 6.6v li fe receiver batterys in 1/8th nitro if so do they work with Ace servo s as they say they only maximum voltage is 6.0v dont want to order a battery and kill my servos  |
any servo will work from 4.8 volts up to 7 volts,(apart from a ko fet servo) most only run at receiver voltage any way which isn't 7.2 or 7.4.

Use a regulator like this ;)http://www.microtechracing.com//prod...RECEIVER+PACKS
|
thats just to cut the voltage back, when your using big 1/8th battery's,the guy just has concerns as the life battery's are lower voltage than are lipos, nps at all plug in and go don't worry,
|
I ran unregulated lipo alot last season without any probs. The new LI-FE packs are designed to be ran unregulated.

I don't think you will have a problem, the voltage drops in the cabling and connectors will lower the voltage to the servo when it is drawing current.
The limiting factor is the power in the servo heating it up, I hope that makes sense ;) If you measure the voltage at the receiver when operating the servos you will find out it can drop down by over 1V. |
