X12 6.5 gearing / B44

indoors which pinion / spur with standard timing would you run?

I used to run mine on standard spur (84t) with 22/23t pinion depending on the track

gearing

Indoors I run 21 or 22 teeth pinion with 84 spur. I worry about motor temperature going any higher.

X-12 6.5 with a 22/78 with 90F+ temps = 180F after 6+minutes...E=mc2 also.

I run a 17 pinion on my 5.5 in the B44 on polished floor. it doesn't get massively hot, but our tracks are quite small ie 11 second laps

X-12 6.5 with a 22/78 with 85F+ temps = 190F after 6+ minutes = trouble on a black groove, ultra bite track... so I stand corrected.

I would not suggest running the suggested FDR's that LRP provides with the X-12. A temp gun and some trial and error is your best bet.

I switched to a 20/78 and this appeared to correct the problem.
