bj4 and losi shocks
hi, i recently bought a bj4x4 original version. i was just having a think, as i may be swapping shocks from associated to losi on my x6, would this also work on the bj4?? or is it still better with the associated ones??
thanks in advance |
most people tend to use the AE shocks as they are fine, plus there are very few setup sheets out there using losi shocks so you would have to do a lot of work on your own to find a good oil piston/spring combination. Im sure the team will have tried a losi shock at some point but they seem to go with an AE shock and why not, they are great if you build them right.

you can buy the S4 towers from Atomic-Carbon to get S4 suspension geometry with Losi shocks.

Is there a trick to building associated shocks well, ive built/rebuilt them quite a few times following the manual and they seem fine to me. i guess im just checking im not missing any secret tips which make them even better.

great article cheers guys!
so what does green slime actually do, is it a sealant? never used it before. And do most racers use it on shocks other than assosiated? ta |
its a lubricant not a sealant ...
|
All my cars are built with green slime in the shock seals.
|
ah, good show
better get me some green slime then, may give ghost busters a ring:) |
i use green slime.
so how much of a difference do these shock towers make?? is it in a good way or does it not make much difference?? |

Tom tried Losi shocks when he was running a BJ4 but they weren't much different to be honest. I seem to remember he started with XX4 springs/oils and gradually changed them to be the same as how we were running the AE shocks at the time. |
There is nothing wrong with the shock bodies if you put the seals in them right.....
Now the rest of the parts..... G |
