Tyre stiffness
Just wondering which tyres are hard and which are soft? I've been looking at the schumacher range.
At the minute I have schumacher mini spikes (yellow). While looking for more tyres I can see green and blue as well, what's the difference? I'm just assuming the different colours indicated a harder compound, but which are harder? |
Blues are harder than yellows.
Greens are a different kind of rubber. They are softer than blues, but don't work on the same kind of surfaces. |
Thanks

basically yellows all the time, unless it's wet, then run greens. Blues are very rarely used these days, but still work well on lush grass tracks (not so good if they are bare dusty grass tracks, yellows then work better)
Ballistic buggy also make off road tyres. The BB green spike is pretty versatile and will work on a wide range of outdoor tracks, both in the dry and wet |
