Got my new Mad Rat today
Hi i got my new Mad Rat today and hopefully will have it running tommorow but i was wondering what parts you think o should upgrade the shocks look crappy so do they need upgrading. I have just the bushings in at the moment but intend to put a bearing kit in.
Any Other Suggestions? Thanks |
buy some b4 shocks off here and a tplate carbon or metal and first thing bearing kit before you run it ebay £8.50 and some better tyres
|
if your kit has the new t plate in it then you won't need an upgraded one.
B4 shocks fit well. Bearings are a must. Are you racing it, or just bashing? are you using lipos? |
associated shocks tamyia shocks or the kyosho ones fit and all work well the bearings and if you dont thave it the upgraded T peice
|
I'm just going to be bashing it unless i get a chance to race it though ive never raced buggys before only touring cars. I will be running lipos with a 19t brushed motor but once i get my new esc i will be running a 5700kv castle creations motor.
Thanks for all your help |
get a vxl esc of ebay and the dynmite motor c4 bigstick there only £35 there made by mamba castle and a quarter of the price of a mamba castle motor there like £80 plus there good motor i got 2 of them. and get a cheap esc of ebay you can pick them up cheap now for bashing

Thanks |
there good i have got 2 of them . there good for the money combo of ebay is about £55 but myself get a second hand 1 of ebay or traxxas esc or my mamba max cost me £85
|
if you are running lipo then put around 150-200g of lead weight in the car, ideally around the front end to help with front grip and stop wheelies
|
Fastrax do an alloy shock set , they do various lengths for a different variety of cars, fast166 £7.99 and fast168 £8.50 are the ones that would fit a Mad Rat, use your original springs as the ones that come with the shocks are a bit on the long side to work properly, I have a couple of customers that use these shocks and they find they work as well as any others on the market.
