bodyshell tape
hi all
i'm having a bodyshell painted by blitzboy and i just wondered how to protect the paint and make the shell a little bit stronger. i've seen a few people use tape, but what tape? anybody can tell me and point me in the right direction to a shop that sells it cheers Ginge |

Im guessing you stick it to the out side of the shell??
|
No... The inside.
Hence why a shell is clear; you paint the inside of the shell. Normally after a professional job, the inside is coated with a matt colour, say, white. You can then use the tape to cover any areas that could potentially become worn. Julius. |

Shoo Goo
Try Shoo Goo. It will protect and reinforce the shell in damage prone area's. Tape will not reinforce the shell.
Shoo Goo will also fit into corners and repair cracks. Just apply where you want to protect, or repair, use a wet finger tip to smooth, or ice cube, and let cure. Thin for protecting paint, and thicker to guard against body flex. Been using it for years, great stuff! I've even used a drop or two to secure wiring to a chassis. And, although I don't advise it, I've seen people use it to mount esc's and rx's. http://www.luggagespot.com/pics/products/item_1559.jpg |
