X6 Motor Mount
in carbon fibre
worked a treat all weekend, indoors @ TRCC on Sat night & @ the NERCR regional. Cooked the motor both days and plate remained intact :) (green fibre's are from TRCC's astro turf) |
Saw this on the weekend, looked proper bling!
Does the carbon thread OK for the bottom T mount screw? |
:)
yep all's OK. Same thread as gearbox screws. All I did was to run a larger headed screw through 1st to cut a thread. Haven't got a tap.:( Screw hasn't backed it's self out and neither have the gearbox screws. If anyones intrested in them I should be able to get a batch cut as well as some anti-squat Shimz for those that haven't got them. There soooooooo easy to use.:) You'd wonder how you managed before you had them :p |
wouldnt tht be worse than alu for reducing heat though???
|
I would be interested but my concern is on the lack of cooling which is what the alloy is good at.
|
Can't you just get some of that Carbon effect sticker stuff and cover your current X-6 motor mount....
:D :p ;) Sorry.... just overdosed on E-numbers in fizzy drinks from our company drinks machine. :wtf: |
I think when it got how phil it would start to peel off as the sticky would go funny.
