what size battery you using 7.2 or nimh and stick with the stock pinion gear i use the stock pinion gear with a 5.5turn brushless motor and a 78 spur gear and slipper pads off a rb5 and there no heat problems at all  there a nice truck but diffrent to the madrat the chassis longer but a very good truck i got 1 myself

robo 25-10-2009 04:09 PM

did any of you do anything with the diff apart from putting bearings in

put b4 diff balls in the diff and put grease init and it will run smooth as hell. and change the spur gear and slipper pads to rb5 koysho . the spur gear are shaped like a egg on the macnum. and get a carbon tplate and and some alloy rear pin holders

i was only say the tplate is a must as they snap for fun. take a look at paul tplate and is rebuild the plastric is not strong at all the tplate snap if it does not land right and the shock tower snap for fun as well .plus the back ends are weak on them i got the truck and madrat

don't touch the diff or slipper, just build the car correctly, standard parts are absolutely fine. Try and get one of the new moulded t-plates that have been reinforced because the original mould was weak.
