i normaly race with sticks however i need a more race orentated radio and cant deal with the cost so changing to a wheel worth it? i am only 17 and have really only been racing for about 6 months is this an advantage? looking for something under £100 2.4ghz too really? |
Look into a second hand KO esprit 2 or a sanwa gemini 2. Will give you pretty much everythign you will need. Plus it sticks.

Unfortunately, the Futaba 3GR, which used to be a pretty reasonable price in the UK, is now a crazy price after the exchange rate collapsed.
Since you are quite new to the sport you may find the change to wheel quite easy. Best advice is to try someone elses handset in your hand, maybe have a run with their car, see if you get along with it. |

I picked myself up a mint 3GR FS (40mhz fully synth) off ebay for £42. It was sold as damaged, as there had been a crash and the radio didnt work after that. I got futaba to replace the reciever board for £30.
You should be fit to pick up a decent 2nd hand radio for under £100 although I doubt you'll get a 2.4ghz for that price. |
I got my latest sanwa gemini II for £70 brand new a few months back. I can find out if there are any more?

Carl, you could get someone to let you borrow a steerwheel 2.4ghz to try .......... I know someone who has a couple for sale at the moment and i'm sure he'd be willing to let you try-before-you-buy ;)
