quick question about lipos and servos
 
hi guys basically i am going to be running 7.4v lipo in my b4 and was wondering will i need to buy a servo that is rated to 7.4v or higher?

No, your esc will regulate the voltage to the servo, it's bec output voltage is limited to 6.0v, just buy a regular servo...

nope. all will work fine.

correct me if I'm wrong, but all servos (unless stated otherwise like the KO FET ones that have a blue lead to goto the speedo/positive wire) are 6 volts.

Servos come to suit a variety of different voltages.

Most servos run on 4.8V or 6V. You'll normally find the specs on the packaging. E.G: This Futaba BLS-351, like many servos, can run off 4.8V and 6V

You can also find 7.2V servos, like the KO that Big G mentioned, or 7.4V servos which will run off a 2S Lipo without need for a BEC, or 14.8V servos that'll run off a 4S Lipo.

You need the most regular type of servo - the 6V ones, as your BEC in your ESC will regulate the voltage down to about 5.8V.
