Front Arms ?

Which arms do you prefer to run, STD or Med Flex ?

Ive been breaking a fair few front arms practicing for a state titles event, some of the breakages have me baffled why as the impact wasn't exactly hard. Ive got the stegger brace on the front aswell.

Ive noticed the STD arms break at the hinge pin at the gear box , Yet the MEd Flex arms break half way down between the shock mount hole and the hub..

personally, i find that the standard ones seem to be holding stronger than the med flex ones. However, the breaking points are the same for both which is around the halfway mark where there is the least material.

Are they breaking were the shock mounts on the arm ? If so i ream or drill the holes slightly so the shoulder of the balljoint for the shockmount doesn't spread the plastic ;);)

The Med Flex are breaking at the first wheel side shock mounting hole.. my shock is mounted on the middle hole..

Im just unsure if stocking up on med flex arms is a good or bad idea, i think i was getting a run with the STD arms with steggers mount installed

have found the medium flex to be more forgiving so far. normally i only break one if ive had a major moment :wtf:

Talking to someone today and he mentioned maybe boiling them in water, to soften them up a bit.. thoughts ?

you must have a lot of big crashes to be breaking lots of lower arms they are no weaker than any other car stop crashing is the best cure.
