In summary then....

It's been out for a few months now, and I'm fishing around at 2wd, so thought I'd ask, how are people finding the Xpro?

Whats it good at/bad at, what are the necessary upgrades, what bits break etc?

Not worried about things like drivetrain noise (eg spur, unless it causes failures), but reliability and speed issues!

good cars tplate breaks all the time just need to put alloy hop ups on and it will be fine . if you after a buggy i got a b4 forsale £100

budgio 18-10-2009 03:36 PM

The T-piece is the only real problem with the car.I have run mine every week at the PDA for the last 9 weeks and have only broken 1 wishbone through silly driving .
Carbon fibre T-pieces will apparently be available from Ansmann soon.
Also X-pro,s on Ebay are at 99 quid at the moment, get 1 in quick ;)

touch wood i ent had a t brake yet, and with the new t's there better. i haven't got the x pro, i have the madrat, i have changed the turn buckles and added b4 shocks and carbon shock towers. also made up a rear pin holder out of alloy, the stock plastic ones break. and the stock tyres are naff, iv just duck taped the inside for the time being to reduce ballooning.

the diff holds up ok and haven't had a problem, the spurs are a bit egg shaped but still running it hasn't really had an effect.

theres not much u need to do to a pro, recommend an alloy rear pin holder and some some good tyres mini pins up front and rear if run on grass/astro.

im pleased with mine ;)

carbide diff balls next on the list,

stampede vxlboy 18-10-2009 05:08 PM

its wont make it any better the gearbox is as smooth as you will get it lol
put some nice wheels and rpm parts will make it look ten time better . diff balls are ok but it does not need them . you would be better buy a better spurgear koysho rb5 and slipper pads .:thumbsup:

rc_dan 18-10-2009 05:24 PM

carbide diff balls last longer imo, and do make your diff a tad smoother imo. the stock spur doesn't really bother me.

stampede vxlboy 18-10-2009 05:35 PM

whats the item number for them?

DaveG28 18-10-2009 05:58 PM

Is there a still an issue around the front wheels binding? Or is it solvable by just tightening the nuts the right amount?

Also, what springs fit and are people running?

budgio 18-10-2009 06:00 PM

yes and yes

stampede vxlboy 18-10-2009 06:07 PM

budgio 18-10-2009 06:19 PM

well my mad rat is sweet as a nut the only things i've replaced the t-piece got a alli one now and i've put losi shocks and the tyres schie green pins on the rear and staggered on the front. thats running on astro. its only my driving thats letting me down:woot: the car handles like a dream.

Ginge

MRD 18-10-2009 07:54 PM

I know the madrat is cheap but if you need to use better shocks and upgrades to make it a competetive racer then would it be cheaper in the long run to buy a lower end or 2nd hand B4?. Ive seen the Madrat in action and the performance is very good but taking into account reliability and parts avaliabilty, is it a viable alternative to the B4 and RB5?

Just curious to hear from people that run them :).

Does anywhere stock all the bits?
