Alan,

Have you tried plugging it into a PC? Mine did that 6 months ish ago but after I plugged it into a PC and reset the setting it was fine - was like it lost the settings.

Have to disagree.

They are good value and work well (national winners have used them) and I, and many others, think they are brilliant for a club runner.

Yes they have faults but so do LRP, Novak, Tekin etc. etc. etc. It is a fact of life than when you are putting as much current through electronics like that things will go wrong (after all, everything has manufacturing tolerances). I think it was Darren at DMS who told me this, but at one point he was selling 4 times as many Losi systems to Novak but there were proportionally more faults/returns with the Novak items than the Losi.

Discuss...

Ive got two of these speedo's and they have been no trouble whatsoever along with the Losi motors for the last 6 months or so, and after the abuse they have had from me thats a good recommendation

For the motor/speedo combo cost there is nothing that comes close to them for value for money.

I am keen of losi speedos and i feel gutted by the break down of my speedo. if losi are keen to help out with speedo matters, i dont understand why they are being knocked for it.:confused::confused:

Paulmay79 18-10-2009 12:42 PM

They are keen to help cos they know they break!!

"They are keen to help cos they know they break!!"

LOL i suppose thats one way of looking at it

Of course they could just be offering very good after-sales customer service ?? Naaaaa of course not, theres definately a conspiracy here... ;)

If you have generally been happy with the Losi speedo before its stopped working then contact the Customer Service peeps to get them to look at the problem and go from there.

I have 3 systems all 4.5T, i have only had a problem so far with one system which was fairly new and the speedo lost throttle so i warranted it. I received a new speedo back within 3 days only to use it again and within 30minutes it caught fire so i warranted it again and have just recieved it back from Horizon this morning with a report stating that if the system is used with a 2s lipo batteries the motor timing isn`t supposed to be set above normal as the 4.5t is a hot fast motor.
As already stated i think every manufacture has issues, but i am extremely happy with Horizons customer service and have not let this put me off there products, i also find the losi xcelorin system well priced and extremely competitive, but my experience is quite limited with brushless systems i just thought i`d share this with you.

The speed passion are cracking speedo's and motors and are a very reasonable price. I know a chap at club has had an excelorin system replaced, but the one i used last year was ok. These from now on!!
