I can't take that list seriously, I’ve had way more near death experiences with jammie dodgers than custard creams yet they’re not even on the list!! :wtf::confused:

Also, oat biscuits, wtf! I suspect most of those injuries come from people realising they’re about to eat a flippin oat biscuit and trying to kill themselves.

Its not the biscuit that caused me damage, it was leaving the spoon in me mug after fishing out a runaway..... It nearly blinded me when I had a drink :woot::woot:

"Jaffa Cakes aren't even a biscuit and they're on the list."

Ah, the good old argument over jaffas'.
This is a very valid point that was argued in the houses of parliment and lead to a M.P bringing a cat in and calling it a dog all in the name of tax.

If it is a biscuit Mcvities have to pay billions in VAT,
If it is a cake then it is VAT free.

Pointless argument but what do you think?

aahhh... the ubiquitous Jaffa... "Is it a cake, or is it a biccy..."

It is neither my friends.. the jaffa is a most unique and formidable paradox... it is both a cake and a biccy at the same time..! :woot:

"full moon... half moon.." I remember it well....

Cake or biscuit?
Under UK law, no Value Added Tax (VAT) is charged on biscuits and cakes — they are "zero rated". Chocolate covered biscuits, however, are subject to VAT, currently 15%. McVities classed its Jaffa Cakes as cakes, but in 1991, this was challenged by Her Majesty's Customs and Excise and the case ended up before the courts.[5] This may have been because Jaffa Cakes are about the same size and shape as some types of biscuit, and particularly because they are commonly eaten alongside, or instead of, traditional biscuits. A question that the court asked itself was "what criteria should be used to class something as a cake?"
McVities defended its classification of Jaffa Cakes as cakes, producing a 12" (30 cm) Jaffa Cake to illustrate that its Jaffa Cakes were simply miniature cakes.[6]
McVities argued that a distinction between cakes and biscuits is, among other things, that biscuits would normally be expected to go soft when stale, whereas cakes would normally be expected to go hard. It was demonstrated to the Tribunal that Jaffa Cakes become hard when stale. Other factors taken into account by the Chairman, Potter QC, included the name, ingredients, texture, size, packaging, marketing, presentation, appeal to children, and manufacturing process. Potter ruled that the Jaffa Cake is a cake. McVities therefore won the case and VAT is not paid on Jaffa Cakes.[7]

ITS A CAKE

Yeah! Plus, no sane person would ever try to dunk a jaffa cake, therefore it’s not a biscuit.

I dunk Jaffas in my coffee. Now I need to buy some custard creams and live dangerously.

purpletimbo 19-10-2009 09:39 PM

I love dunking Jaffas especially Strawberry ones, a great test of reactions not to drop them, they go soggy in 2 seconds tops.
On another tack, all 3 main party leaders were asked their favourite biscuits, one was Oatcakes, one was Rich Tea, good old Gordon was anything with chocolate on, first time I ever believed a word he said:woot:

I called round my moms after work - I had a quick rummage through the cupboards as you do, it was then that I came across a double pack of custard creams - I shut the door right back up on those bad boys having read this... Double danger :cry:

I've warned her too... Stay safe everybody..
