vapor1 15-10-2009 04:57 PM

They are what you would expect to pay for high quality full CNC machined aircraft grade Alloy, they do look good.

budgio 15-10-2009 05:06 PM

Indeed they do, i got all mine direct from TeamC.
Looks like it saved me a small fortune.

Dont forget for any company to import products into this country, customs and excise take a huge chunk of our money and this has to be carried by a lot of distributors regardless of what kind of product its is, I know it doesnt make it any easier for customers who end up paying for it, also exchange rates play a big part in this, add all that up and you end up with all of us paying more than we really want to whether its RC products or the food we eat, of course its easy to buy stuff from abroad ourselves but then when we do want something from a local supplier and they have gone bankrupt due to not being able to compete with the world market we all soon complain about it, not having a moan just feel the need to put everything into perspective, the global market is very hard to compete with and then when the goverment take a large part from us it hurts us all, ask yourself why we are a nation that import more than we produce and it wasnt like that before, in fact our production has steadily gone down since the early 80s.

modelsport list the alu rear arm mount @ £17.63, which is there basic online discount from the list price.

its the only one of the hop-ups they have online at the mo, did you get them in store stampy?

vapor1 15-10-2009 07:07 PM

just to let you know VXL these alloy hop up have only just arrived in Ansmann w/house in the past couple of days, so you will not have got them from Modelsport. i can gaurantee that.

vapor1 15-10-2009 07:21 PM

just backing up what Concept racing is saying, without the local model shops we would all be stuffed. we need to support the local shops as they play a big part in what we buy and then they support it with back up.

sorry, but i'm with Budgio on this. Those prices are way too high.

£20 for the brass lipo tray? This cost $9, so about £6 from team C. You can get one shipped over, pay the duty and still get it cheaper than that! There is no way customs can add that much onto the product and if Ansmann are ordering in bulk then it should drive down the postage overhead too.

£11 for the front arm mount? $4, so £2.50 from team C

And as for quality, i'd be surprised if it's amazing as the brass lipo tray doesn't actually fit in a madrat! Not unless you have VERY thin lipos, you just can't fit the battery strap on.
