No fault car insurance claim

anyone used am approved bodyshop to have no fault car insurance claim work done?

How did it work?

Did your insurance company increase your renewal due to you now being a risk even though you were not at fault.

Local approved insurance bodyshops are saying if you use your insurer it goes down on your records but if you use a no fault insurance company it doesn't

Reason for asking is I need some work doing (approx 800 to 1k to replace a door :woot:, parts, paint & labour etc) due to the car being bumped by someone reversing of the drive opposite.

I just phoned the other person's insurer directly, same as what one of these no fault claim places do.

Even though it wasn't your fault you were still involved in an accident so it gets listed on your record and your insurance will more than likely be affected.

I did everything via my insurance co the last time I was involved like this, it's your right to have the car repaired at whatever garage you want, don't let them bully you into taking it to a garage you're not happy about.

if you choose to have YOUR body shop repair it then the insurance company do not have to give you a courtesy car and if your not happy with the repairs they will not get involved as it was your choice, where if you use theirs you will get a car providing its on your policy and if your not happy with the repair they will sort it out.

Within reason, you can't take it somewhere that charges 5 times as much as a normal garage, they will just decline. When i had mine done i checked out the garage they chose and they were very good so i didn't look elsewhere.

Your premium will go up, i just do a quote as if i didn't have a crash then say im leaving if they don't match it. My premium is £290. Not bad for a non fault claim, 3 points and a 143bhp sports model car thats kept on the street. :woot::thumbsup:
