Bury Metro Fire

The Gym has been burned down. I hope they don't blame us for supplying the Diesel fuel from our roller.

Hopefully the council will clean it up for us.

Looks a mess, just spoken to Roger and he says the fire has not effected the track which I think we are lucky for.

Roger, any need for assistance in de-sooting the straight then give me a shout please, im sure dad will come too. Thats if council don't come and do it for us....

Lee 10-04-2007 02:14 PM

I imagine a good brush and then a pressure washer should sort it.

Have they done awy with the step up at the end of the straight?

super__dan 10-04-2007 03:11 PM

Bloody hell, this shouldn't effect the club though should it. Can't believe I was only there on Sunday, I even had a wee up against the side of the gym cos the toilets weren't open :(

Northy 10-04-2007 03:14 PM

When did it happen? It was still there at 7pm Sunday night when we left.

[second that :p] if that was done on purpose then the person must have loved the track cos its amazing how close it is to the track without it effecting it. does any1 no when it was done??

Rob 10-04-2007 03:55 PM

Must of been Sunday night or Monday night as we were racing there on Sunday.

MikePimlott 10-04-2007 04:32 PM

I was there on monday day it was raining so didnt stay long and it was all ok then??

BUT the little green cabin thats next to the rostrum were we park had been broken into and all the polestyrene from the roof was all over the track.

Me and Mr WoOdeh have just been to look and it has melted some of the astro turf under all that soot, so it looks like the end of the straight will need replacing, so all hands on deck! Anyone who wants to help please contact me or stu. All help will be gratefully recieved! ;)

Oscar 10-04-2007 05:55 PM

Send me a mail when your planning it Jen, and I'll see if I can make it over.

PaulRotheram 10-04-2007 06:06 PM

Northy was having a slash there also, maybe they crossed the streams.

_sleigh_ 10-04-2007 06:35 PM

One things for sure, once they've cleared the site there'll be a nice flat concrete area for pitting.
