X6 meets wall....ooops, Suggestions needed please..

Hello hello. Its a sad day.. after coming back from the F345's without needing to carry out any repairs to my X6 i was pretty pleased with myself. However after a bit of loving fettling with the car today (refreshing the shock oils) i took it for a test drive...
I put the car on the floor pulled away and then withing seconds the car was up to full speed, i had no control at all, the steering and brakes didnt work, there was no response at all from the transmitter to the car.
The car carried on flat out about 50 yards up the road all i could do was stand and wait for the inevitable. Then came the brick wall.

R.I.P X6.

So now its car replacement time, when i find some money.... but the thing on my mind is how could this happen? does anyone have any idea how it could have taken off but then not responed to anything i tried to do?.

All the batteries in the trasmitter and car were fully charged, Im using spektrum and havent had interference issues all year.:confused::confused:.

It was bloody spectacular though.!!! I still havn't found all the parts!
I think its going to be cheaper to buy a used X6 rather than repair this one.

if u have spektrum your fail safe should have cut in, unless you have it set so when you turn off your radio it defaults to max power, sounds like you have done that to me

My guess would be Spectrum fail safe. If you bind the unit with throttle applied, thats what it will do when the transmitter is off. Ive done it when Ive bound the car, then found out I have to reverse the throttle and recalibrate. The fail safe is still set for the original setting. I'm probably wrong but its worth looking at :).

Edit: You just pipped me to it :)

Lol, thanks for the offer:thumbsup:, to be honest i need to sort it out as im planning to run it during the Eden park winter series.....but on the other hand the cost of a chassis alone is £50 so i may as well look for another X6....mmmm not sure......ill make my mind up in the morning and let you know what im doing..thanks again!

I remeber doing somthing very similer to my first 3 gear X-6 at Teeside indoor at the warehouse one time, although i did have a 4.5 in it :P haha

ben 27-09-2009 10:11 PM

Dare i say it's not as bad as it looks??

Is it only the cell slot that has cracked? If so you could maybe take it out or push it back in and glue it? As for the front im sure someone will give you a nose cone F.O.C. then it's just the B4 parts

£30 and you'll be sorted, if you dont need a chassis ;)
