LRP SXX

Hi Guys,

Was wondering whats the best throttle setting you guys use for these speedo's
Just put one in my Durango, wanted smooth bottom end power.
So do i just set it on the handset expo 30/50% or whats the best setting on the speedo to use.
Just not sure what throttle response needs seting at I've put at 1 for now.

Ive set the brakes on number 10
Set 0 drag brake, do any of you guys use this at all on 4wd?

The motor I'm using is also LRP X12 6.5.

hi
try profiles 2 or 3 these are mild smooth settings really easy to drive
0 initial brake gives a good proportional brake(at 10 you got a hell of alot of brake on first mm of your stick
o drag brake

0 or -20ish on tranny expo keeps smooth feel

hope this helps
steve

Ok first thing make sure you have the oooo (4 dot) timing insert in your motor. Helps with smoooothness !!

Secondly LRP SXX settings : 1, 1, 1, 0

that's what was recommended to me and I found the most drivable.

Thirdly I was tolds by pretty decent drive to never use more than -15 on throttle expo otherwise you don't develop your driving skills (soft thumbs) ??

Hope this helps but it's just a guide you have to find what suits you.

Cheers guys for the info will give it go.

What do you mean 4dot timing on your motor? Sorry for the stupid response

there are different timing inserts that come the X12 motor, you want oooo which is zero degrees timing.

I also agree with Scotts settings, 1-1-1-0. Once you get used to the power try going up to throttle profile 2.

To change the timing insert take the screw in the center of the end bell out and the cover comes off. Then the rectangle plastic piece which fits around the socket where your sensor lead goes will have some dots moulded into the surface. Easy way to know is look in the bag inside your motor box if you have one with 2 dots and 3 dots then the 4 dot one is already in there. Older motors came with 2 dot as standard. Newer motors come with 4 dot standard

Ahhhh thanks guys

Always wondered what these was for.

Anyway's I've check the motor & it had the 2dots in no wonder the motor was ballistic faster compared to other 6.5's some of the guys i raced with.
So if i put the 4dots in this will smoothen the power band out then i guess now.

Thanks for the help again

They are fast motors anyway but def put the 4 dot insert in. Bit of a heads up with these motors the bearing need a drop of bearing lube from time to time. Make sure you do this and it'll be good

This is one to watch LRP on the first batch of X12's had the oo inserts, the manual also states oo is the default timing.
If you buy now they have oooo insert also the manual now reflects this as the default timing.

Just read this with interest, but i have a question....

I have just put the 0000 card in my x12. I want to be sure i have it the right way up. I can now see the 0000 marking when i look at the bottom of the can, does that sound right?

Cheers

Dave

Is the 0000 insert advancing or retarding the timing, and is this more revs, less torque or the other way round??

matdodd 15-10-2009 07:02 PM

Ye that sounds right to me

dibble34 15-10-2009 07:05 PM

As far as i am aware the 0000 is the lowest revs (coolest) setting. However if i have it in the wrong way up it will be set to the max advanced setting which is -. That's why i wanted to check i had the right way round so i don't roast it :woot:

Out of interest...has anyone tried the "launch control"?

I had a lil play whilst setting the SXX up ready for Sunday, coor blimey!

Also, is 1,1,1,0 recommended for 4WD both high and low grip?? or are there different ideas for high and low?

ashleyb4 16-10-2009 10:59 PM

I havent got a sxx but I have tried the launch control on a dominator Evolution, matrix evo and matrix evo ISTC and it does make a diffrence lol.

Moved up a few places on the start of a final with it.
