Cost me a pound!!!

Tonight i went to work with 25 pound in my wallet. I put it in my bag in the locker room as i have done for the 17 months ive worked there came out tonight at 9.30 got a few things to buy went in my wallet at the till to find ive had the 25 pound taken from my wallet :( Nothing else just the notes.

The annoying thing is i wasnt meant to be working tonight i just popped in to see when i was working next and the manager asked me if there was any chance of me working so i said year and doing the hours i did i earnt 24 pound so im a pound down.

Not a very happy bunny :'(

Not good news mate. How many hours did you work as a matter of interest?? Surely on your hourly rate you had to work 8 hours to earn £24.00??

On a serious note mate I hope they do something to try and get your money back or at least get you a different locker

Wow. Thanks for that Ash.

How did that have any relevance to the thread title?

ashleyb4 23-09-2009 09:08 PM

I went to work earned 24 pound and had 25 pound taken so it cost me a pound to go to work.

There simply isnt enough lockers to go round. Only the people who have worked there for 5 or so years have lockers

No camera's in the locker rooms but camera's outside.

I earnt 24 pound and lost 25 so im a pound down.

Normally i dont leave much money in my wallet maybe a fiver at the most but i just forgot to take it out as i was in a rush.

Did someone pick the lock or just break in to the locker. Lay a trap for next time with an old wallet and some of the stuff you brush on the notes that turn fingers green.

Earning the 24 quid is irrelavant, you are 25 pounds down.

thats a good idea :)

There are not enough lockers to go round. They tell you to leave your valuables in the managers office. But if the manager is in a confrence call or dealing with something you could be waiting and hour or two to get your belongings and there goes your dinner or if you want to go home you have to wait to get your belongings. Its just not practical so do what 95% of other people do.

Speak to your trade union if you have one, they will help with the locker situation.

ashleyb4 23-09-2009 09:52 PM

Ill go see the manager in the morning we have a new one.

If there arn,t enough lockers you should have kept your wallet on you. Trust no-one and you wont be dissapointed. I think you can get the dye stuff from a chemist. Failing that shove some dog sh** in an old wallet. If you then see someone washing their hands excessively you,ve got the thief.

ashleyb4 23-09-2009 09:55 PM

One i work in a supermarket where lots of people wash there hands alot so that wont really work and keeping any sort of money on you while on the shop floor is an instant dissmisal.

Did you ring the police?

ashleyb4 23-09-2009 10:16 PM

No. I just reported it to the manager. As we are told when we start there anything left in the locker room is left at your own risk.

jono83 23-09-2009 10:37 PM

Ash i had some money stolen form my wallet a couple of years back before i had a locker. when i asked management for a look at the cctv. they told me there wasnt any cameras in the the warehouse at all nor does any point to the entrance to the back area the only thing you can see is people on the shop floor or people entering and exiting the shopfloor. which i think is an absolute joke i wasnt very happy and they have still done nothing about this situation!!
