What's faster on the track, Slash or SC10?
With all the debate about which truck would perform better on the track, why not side by side A-Main times comparison between Slash Spec and non-Slash Short Course trucks such as the Associated SC10 and others.
This could be fun? Below, in the SC class are a smattering of mostly SC10s, a few Slashes with stock motors, one home made Academy Short Course Truck, and at least one if not two Rustler based home made trucks... The rest is here < that is a link |
i dont think there is even a comparison!

I think the SC10 is far superior in terms of build quality and racing "pedigree" if you like - The Slash just looks like a budget, flat chassis fun / strong "toy" for the RTR market to me..... The SC10 is a thoroughbred T4 Truck race car with a few mods / tweeks here and there :-)

I'd like to know how the Blitz and Strike will compare to the SC10.

Our local programs are moving toward a straight forward "Stock" and "Open" class format. Should make for some exciting races... Note, the BFG race vid shows the #13 running strong whihc as a home made Academy SC truck, and two others consistently in the top 10 were home made Rustler based rigs. And then there were a few SC10s and Slash in the field. Thanks for the input. More discussion from the drivers in the MORL program is here: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showth...60#post2991660 |

Go
Well (touch wood) mine has been indestructible so far, but Pat managed to break a wishbone last week apparently. Although he probably did his usual and tried to drive it up the wall instead of taking the bend like everyone else :p

I love my Slash and won’t hear a bad word said against it.:p The handling is pure comedy gold, and it’s pretty much indestructible. It’s a great truck to get people into the hobby. But, with equal drivers, I don’t think it can compete with the low centre of gravity cars from AE, HPI and soon Kyosho, especially on high grip surfaces. I think of it more like the old Tamiya Boomerang or Hotshot in the early 90s, great for messing about and getting you started at a few club meets, then, as people want to be more competitive they move to the more race capable cars.
Can't wait for the HPI Blitz though. |
Have you guys seen the Losi SCT go against the Sc10s etc, how does it compare?

I would say the SC10! they preform much better and look nicer :)

I would say the Slash looks better and is stronger, but the SC10 might perform slightly better,TBH there is very little in it.
I bought a Slash  Which ever you go for,you can be assured of it being fun ;) |
