Just picked up a bj4 non-worlds!
Exactly as the title says, its the first version with the side battery tray. Got it only for $100 bucks! Wanted a b44 because I got an Rc8 but the bj4 is very close enough. Im going to be racing and im going to put a 8.5t brushless system in, most at my track reccomended. Anyway im looking for some tips on this buggy and what you guys think of it? Thanks Derek!

hi, if i was you i would look around for the worlds conversion, makes the car alot more stable and better to drive,
the bj4 is a great car love mine to bits |
how is it with out the kit? New to electric so tips on this would help. Also im going to be running a 8.5t brushless system. Is that a fast sys for offroad? They reccomend it at my track

if that is what your track recomends then it will be fine there are faster motors on the market and there are slower it all depends on driving skill and the type of race track you race on for example racing indoors on a small wood floor a 13.5 is plenty quick enough where as outdoors on a large astro track a 5.5 or 6.5 is the way forward. |
I'll join the topic starter :) I picked up a non WE Bj4 today. It's from -05, been driven one race, then been standing in the shelf for all years. Do i need to say mint condition? An amazing piece of machinery work!
I bought it because i was looking for a 4WD with stick pack and inch threads. *EDIT* brain fade... |

Cool!!! Looks like what I bought:lol::thumbsup: But still not here:thumbdown: Anyway im going to be new to lipo/brushless. Very excited when I saw these 1/10 4wd's run...one word FAST lol. Its gonna be looking goood next to my rc8. So is the worlds kit as an upgrade a " NECCASARY"???
|
I have no idea about the upgrade. I bought the non WE because i want to use my stick packs. I don't take 4WD so serious anyway, my main priority is 2WD.

My tips since ive been driving those cars since 3-4 years back, get a extra front shocktower, and CA glueém together. It will spare you a lot of angry words and broken heats.

It's in a lot better shape than mine - running it outdoors for the first time exposed both my and the previous owner's incompetant maintenance... |
So the shock towers are the most fragile piece?

Car will be here tommorow:thumbsup: Will post pics
|
my bj4 looks toatly different....has gold on it:confused: and blue aluminium arms:confused:

Take some pics!
Aluminium arms are a big nono... |

Update.
This weekend i made my 4wd race debut. I had no expectations at all, i would be happy just not finish last, I've only been racing 2wd since now. It was on a very wet slippery gravel track. The Bj4 is wonderful to drive! I love it. When the qualifying was over i was BQ, well over my thoughts! Unfortunately the finals didn't go that well, 3'rd in first, and a contact with the curb in 2'nd that broke the left front arm. But all in all i'm happy, the old Bj4 is still a strong and competetive car! My X6, and the broken hero Bj4, after a muddy race in sweden. http://www.hottuna.at/wp-content/upl...53-300x225.jpg |
