Rewiring an AMB PT
Does anyone know if you can de-case an AMB PT? And if so...how?
Or, failing that, does anyone know of anyone who is able to rewire an AMB PT internally? Ta :) |
I think MRT can help you Cris.

Cheers Pete,
Just emailed them about ordering another PT, but ill see if they can hook me up :) |
I could probably rewire one if you can get the casing off. Dad always get me to rewire his servo's and speedo's since he can't hold the soldering iron still enough anymore hehe
|
I cant get the casing off at the moment :(
Iv been told that it will come off, but im a danger to all with a scalpel :( |
G North did something like thin on Vernon's PT. Isn't the casing essentially moulded around the wire so they are non replacable. I'm sure he had to do exactly that and trim it back with a scalpel until he found enough bared wire to solder a new lead onto.
|
For the record, I hacked off the red casing on my AMB PT and inside it is basically sealed in epoxy.
You probably could hack the epoxy off enough to get a decent amount of lead to resolder onto, but ive just heatshrunk mine and slapped it in the Shark ST :) |
Yeh, as Dan said, I cut back the epoxy until I found PCB to solder to ;)
